The developer of Monopoly GO, Scopely, has rolled out the v.1.37.1 update, addressing bug fixes and teasing “seasonal surprises” for the widely popular mobile game. Launched in April 2023 as a mobile adaptation of the classic board game, Monopoly GO has gained significant traction, and players can look forward to exclusive cosmetics and festive events during this holiday season.
The latest season of Monopoly GO, which began on December 5, introduced the Jingle Joy album. This Christmas-themed collection offers exclusive rewards and new events, following the previous Marvel GO album that focused on the Disney-owned IP.
Scopely’s December update brings not only technical improvements but also promises unique seasonal content. While specifics remain unclear, the developer has hinted at “plenty of seasonal surprises,” including cosmetics that have yet to be revealed. Additionally, an event described as “something fast, fun, and frozen” is on the horizon, though no further details have been provided. To participate in these events and access new cosmetics, players will need to stay engaged with the game, as the rollout timing for the update’s content is still uncertain.
This update follows the recent addition of a new mini-game to Monopoly GO. On December 12, the game introduced The Adventure Club: Haunted Mansion, allowing players to explore a winter-themed mansion, complete missions, and unlock exclusive rewards.
However, not all recent changes have been well received by fans. Last week, some players voiced concerns over a new restriction limiting the game to one device per account at a time. Previously, users could access their accounts across multiple devices, but this limitation has likely been implemented for security reasons.
Despite some criticism, Monopoly GO continues to thrive as one of the top mobile games of 2024, regularly delivering fresh content and engaging experiences.
